TCAF’n’
Hey gang, lots of things to talk about but not a lot of time to say it in, so my speech will be clipped and there will be visual aids.
Most importantly, I’m going to be going to TCAF this weekend with Niki Smith! Above is where we’ll be, table 209, on the second floor. There’s so much amazingness happening this weekend, I can’t even begin to describe it all, so you had better check out the website for the full details. Checking out the full second floor map should begin to give you an idea (that’s not even mentioning all the wonder that is on the first floor, like the Koyama crew). I will be bringing lots of good stuff with me to sell and give away, including the much anticipated debut of PUPPYTEETH 2. I’ll also have a small amount of the first issue of PUPPYTEETH, as well as copies of the new pushups, “Peace Signs,” and a bunch of free stuff, including new flyers my brother made for Eat That Toast. For you Liz Suburbia fans out there (and really, who isn’t?), I’ll be representing her with the debut of Cyanide Milkshake #3. You really need to buy this comic zine, as well as #2, which I’ll have with me as well. And the icing on the cake is a new Sacred Heart free sampler that is really phenomenal. You can check out Niki’s site to see what she’s got in store for you.
In other TCAF news, I got to do a little Q&A in the National Post. Let me know if I really embarrassed myself or not, ok guys?
Anyway, I am beyond excited and feeling beyond lucky to not only travel to another country for the first time in my life, to not only meet just about every important comics creator to me (who I haven’t met already), and then to be doing it all on my birthday. Yeah, that’s right! Saturday, May 7th, is not only Free Comic Book Day, but it’s my 26th birthday! I am the most blessed this year.
My ladyfriend and I celebrated an early birthday for me this past weekend and she made me feel so loved. She made me a carrot cake (she made one about two weeks ago too, carrot cake overload!) and then forced me to open my gifts. Check it out.
Yeah, that’s an awesome stuffed bird dude and a tote bag made from scratch! The print is of the Free Stamp, a Claes Oldenburg sculpture that hangs out in Cleveland. I can’t believe she made me a bag. Amazing. Then we spent most of the weekend just watching Freaks & Geeks. Good times.
Finally, I’ve done a number of drawings for a couple good dudes. We’ve got Bennie from Sacred Heart for Liz Suburbia, in a mirror shot. Then I drew psyball young turk Kid Behr for the amazing Brandon B. That guy can make some comics that are really outstanding. And of course there’s Captain Cupcake, the star of the Cupcakes & Comics crew’s endeavors. He’s pretty crazy, but only because he’s so sweet. The piece de resistance is Honchkrow and Scraggy, the two coolest pokemon there ever were. What are they up to??? Who can know. The world of pokemon is very different from our human world.
Oh yeah, and I did a picture for Picture Box’s new fan forum.
Ok ok I gotta go. I love each and every one of you!

So excited for you! And you didn’t come off as anything other than nice and personable in your interview, no worries there. Can’t thank you enough for reppin’ those of us who couldn’t make it. GO KEVIN GO!!
